5 New bands to watch

At Moshly, we’re focused on building a space where music fans and emerging bands can actually connect. We want to support smaller artists and help people discover music they might not hear anywhere else.

That’s why we asked our followers to tell us about the new bands they’ve been listening to. We’re still a small platform ourselves and honestly, we didn’t expect the response we got. The amount of great music sent our way was overwhelming in the best way possible. We’ve picked out a few favourites to share with you and the plan is to keep doing this regularly. Shout out to everyone who submitted their favourite bands. You’re helping us build something real, and we’re just getting started.

Gürl

Founded in Bristol in 2020 by two friends with just one rule: call the band Gürl, because, in their words, “it looks good on a t-shirt.” And just like that, Gürl was born, quickly carving out their own space with a sound as bold as their name.

Described as fashion posing as music, Gürl are a poppy trauma dump you did not sign up for. They mix metal with unapologetically pop moments, offering something as catchy as it is confrontational. Gürl are a perfect fit for fans of Bring Me The Horizon and Bad Omens, especially those who don’t mind a heavy dose of bold, pop-infused sound. They recently wrapped a tour across Germany and Austria, followed by a UK run supporting alt-rock veterans Mallory Knox. Details about what’s coming next are scarce. The band has kept quiet about upcoming releases and shows, but according to them, something “very special” is in the works.

Wondering which tracks stood out to me the most on first listen? Without a doubt, “Anti-pop” and “Evil Twin.” These two singles are absolute bangers. They are catchy, chaotic, packed with rap, guitars and pounding drums. The exact songs you’d wanna hear live at a festival and jump around until you drop. You can play them on repeat and never get bored.

happydaze

happydaze are a pop-punk band from Edinburgh, Scotland, which has been turning heads since forming in 2020. After signing with Thriller Records in 2021, they released their debut EP “Underground Summer Sound” in 2022 and toured the UK and Europe with bands like Neck Deep, Boston Manor, Higher Power and ROAM.

Their second EP, “Full Free Radical” (2023), showed real growth. It blends their pop-punk roots with a more alternative moments. Singles like “Faded” sound both familiar and fresh. Their sound could be described as upbeat, pop-punk with catchy melodies and energetic instrumentation. This album, in particular, reminds me a lot of Blink-182's earlier work, particularly their style around the "Enema of the State" era.

happydaze stand out for their ability to mix emotional depth with catchy, high-energy songs. Their music tackles real-life topics like mental health and growing up, but always keeps a hopeful, relatable tone. It’s the kind of sound that’s both fun and meaningful.

With consistent releases, powerful live shows, and a fresh take on pop-punk, happydaze are quickly becoming one of the most exciting new bands in the scene. If you're into honest lyrics, strong hooks and energetic vibes, this is a band to keep your eye on.

Gallamesh

Gallamesh is a new five-piece Dutch band, fresh out of the Amsterdam region. Their modern hardcore blend is not just to entertain, but to melt your brain with big riffs, heavy grunts and chaos. Last years' debut EP Conditioned pt.1 already was a warning sign that Gallamesh could write hard-hitting songs (such as personal favourite "Servants of Ira").

Thematically, the songs on their new EP (Conditioned pt. 2) could also be labelled social-structuration-core (or gore), with some academic level philosophical and anthropological reflections. If this doesn’t sound appealing to you, just press play and it will change your mind!

The EP begins with "Now it Ends". Is this a pun? I don't care, because this song will END YOUR DAY. Everything you were doing becomes irrelevant. The riff is HARD. The vocal hooks will catch you shouting along until your throat starts to hurt (where's the pain?). And this is just the start.

The rest of the EP will offer a short but intense journey, starting with the thrashy opening of "Different eyes" which will take you on a 2:43 gut-punching rollercoaster, with surprising melodic elements. Title song "Conditioned" throws in rap vocals (deviating from the excellent grunts). It is debatable whether this works, but Gallamesh does not care and will feed you what is on their menu. And that is a recipe for success! The next song "Lotus" is an instant mosh pit starter, creating ultimate chaos before taking a step back with a surprisingly melodious outro that gets under your skin. Finally, "Breeding season" turns on the grooves (shoutout to the rhythm section!), this time the layered vocals bang harder before a headbanging ending.

Sixth Wonder

Sixth Wonder are a Scottish alt-metal band carving out a bold, genre-blurring sound where "djent pop" meets cinematic fantasy. With soaring melodies, crushing riffs and immersive storytelling, they craft soundscapes that are as emotionally rich as they are musically complex.

The band has already earned airplay on BBC Radio 1, won Best Metal at the 2023 Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMAs), and shared stages with heavyweights like Dream State, Gore. and Graphic Nature.

Their debut EP "Prologue" is more than just an introduction. It’s a fully-formed statement of intent. Across five dynamic tracks, the band builds a world where brutal breakdowns and shimmering atmospheres collide. Vocalist Rebekah Kirk brings unmatched range, shifting from delicate, melodic lines to guttural growls. Her voice becomes a central force, guiding listeners through an emotional journey that begins with the opener “Thorn” and ends with the haunting closer “Death Departed.

Lyrically, "Prologue" explores themes of inner conflict, transformation and mortality. It blends raw emotion with poetic imagery. Each song feels like a chapter in a larger story and is pulling listeners deeper into Sixth Wonder’s immersive world. With "Prologue", Sixth Wonder have proven they're one of the new UK bands which will likely shape the future of metal.

THR33 SIXT33N

THR33 SIXT33N is a brand-new band from the UK. They could be described as the wild card in this list but they’re already showing a lot of potential. They boldly call themselves a modern metalcore/hardcore movement. Their music is a mix of heavy, emotional and powerful sounds. Even though they just started in 2024, they’ve quickly found their style and recently released a pretty good first EP called "EX_NIHLO".

The EP’s name means “out of nothing” in Latin, which apparently has a few different meanings for the band. It also reflects on how they are trying to built something strong from the very beginning. "EX_NIHLO" is only three tracks long, but it’s packed with energy. Each song takes you through different feelings, anger, sadness, and even moments of calm. The band says this EP is just the first half of a bigger idea they’ll reveal later. That makes "EX_NIHLO" not only a strong introduction, but also a taste of what’s to come.

For such a new band, they’ve already done a lot right. If they keep going this way, they could become a big name in the scene.

Our honourable mention goes all the way to Brazil. TEIA is a Brazilian Nu Metal / Hardcore band that caught our attention with their debut album "METAMORPH", released just a few months ago. According to the band, the album reflects on feelings such as anger, love, anxiety and the struggle to find oneself and remain alive in the face of the world and its challenges. The tracks 'MIE HEAD' and 'CAN YOU DIG IT?' were released as singles along with music videos, available on the band's YouTube channel. We wanted to give them a shoutout because bands from Brazil, and South America in general, don’t often get much recognition in Europe. "METAMORPH" is a solid debut and worth a listen if you're into discovering heavy music from outside the usual scenes.
