5 New Bands to Disturb your Playlist this June

Summer is heating up fast and this month we’re spotlighting our favourite new picks to spice up your playlist alongside it. From Paris to Baltimore, this international list highlights emerging artists who are currently making a splash in the new wave of alternative music.

KNIFE BRIDE

KNIFE BRIDE
are a Brighton-based Nu-Gothika metal band comprised of four members. Their heavy sound comes from the powerful vocals of singer Mollie Clack alongside the shredding guitar of Sean Windle, the relentless drums and distorted synth of Sean Milsopp and Craig Glynn’s brutal bass.

Having been influenced by bands such as Spiritbox, Kate Bush, Bring Me The Horizon and Karnivool, their music focuses on storytelling and they have proudly paid homage to powerful and nuanced women in their music.

In their newest EP ‘sorry about the plague’ released in April 2026, the band have secured their status as a quickly emerging name in the scene having already gathered over 400,000 streams on the piece. The opener of this EP ‘alone at the altar’ encompasses KNIFE BRIDE’s mission statement, telling the story of the band's namesake, ‘The Bride’, and introducing listeners to her erratic and chaotic personality which sets the tone for the rest of the EP.

Heave Blood & Die

Heave Blood & Die are an up-and-coming experimental post-hardcore band from Tromsø, Norway. Their genre-blending sound has led to them being hailed as one of Norway’s most exciting new bands by Norwegian national radio, as well as earning nominations for two Spellemann Prizes, often referred to as the Norwegian Grammys.

Drawing inspiration from Killing Joke, The Black Angels and Preoccupations, their unique mix of post-hardcore, doom and sludge metal depicts an anxiety-filled world. Their music perfectly encapsulates the emotions of a weary generation drifting aimlessly through concrete-filled cities, while presenting those themes in a fresh and distinctive style.

Their most recent album ‘Burnout Codes’ just got released in May and is a chaotic blend of genres that come together seamlessly. Tracks such as ‘Dog Days’, reminiscent of early-2000s UK punk, and ‘HEATWAVE 3000’, an industrial post-punk vision of an apocalyptic world, stand out and highlights.

Teen Suicide

Teen Suicide’s unique surrealist style of rock allows them to blend together soft dreamlike vocals with distorted guitar shredding to create a sound which feels as liminal as it does familiar.

The band has experienced a slew of hardships since their creation in 2009, namely the turnover of 6 different members, however one constant has been Sam Ray (founder, songwriter, vocalist, guitarist). Sam now runs Teen Suicide alongside his wife and band member Kitty Ray (songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist) to create unique songs inspired by a variety of artists from Jucifer to The Feelies to 1905.

Their latest album, released in April 2026 is entitled ‘Nude Descending Staircase Headless’ and is the best example of their sonic variety, with each song taking on its own style without the album feeling chaotic or disjointed. This album represents a new direction for Teen Suicide as they explore heavier sounds. They also brought their music into a professional studio and worked with a producer for the first time, creating a stark contrast to the hazy bedroom-pop sound their previous works had become synonymous with.

Corella

A UK based indie rock & pop quartet, Corella are gearing up to launch their next album ‘A Beautiful World To Lose’ on 18 September this year and their first singles are an exciting look at what’s to come. The up-tempo sound of ‘Simple Life’ harks back to their 2017 release ‘Barcelona Girl’ and is reminiscent of bands like Bad Suns.

Their most recent single ‘Bitter End’ is an indictment of the modern rat race, and a perfect example of how this Mancunian band is taking their unique sound and infectious passion to the next level, helped along by bringing in Grammy-winning Jason Perry (The Molotovs, McFly, Don Broco) as a producer.

Drawing inspiration from bands such as Kings of Leon, Two Door Cinema Club and The 1975, Corella have crafted a sound that blends infectious indie hooks with anthemic energy. On their recent tour, the band gave fans an early taste of tracks from their upcoming album, generating excitement ahead of its release. That same electric atmosphere is captured in the video for ‘Bitter End’, which showcases the joyfully chaotic energy of their live performances, a spirit that runs through every single released so far.

ODC

Coming from the vibrant alternative scene of Paris, ODC have been making waves since their debut album ‘Twisted Love’ released at the end of 2025, and having already amassed over half a million streams they have crafted a reputation as a real tour de force.

Drawing inspiration from American rock bands like Linkin Park, Bring Me The Horizon and Breaking Benjamin, their music seamlessly blends powerful melodies with head-banging riffs to deliver an intense, emotional and mosh-worthy sound. At the centre of it all is vocalist, songwriter and producer Celia Do and her influence over the band’s strong visual identity.

In their most recent release ‘Welcome to My World’, a collaboration with french metal-pop band Offspec, ODC blend the vocals of Celia Do and Offspec’s Luisa Lyons with heavy riffs and racing drums to create a piece discussing resilience, inner conflict and rebirth.
