5 New Bands to Disturb your Playlist this March
This month’s edition brings one of our most diverse lineups yet. Featuring bands from Germany, France, the UK and even Australia, this selection highlights a wide range of sounds and scenes. From crushing metal riffs to hardcore urgency and melodic moments, these artists show just how varied and exciting the new wave of alternative music is right now.
Blush Puppy
Midlands alternative band Blush Puppy are quickly building momentum with a sound that blends emo, alternative rock, pop and heavier influences. Formed by a group of old school friends, the band came together through a shared love of music and a desire to turn real-life struggles into something creative and honest.
Their music balances raw energy with big, melodic hooks, while their distinctive three-part vocal harmonies add depth and emotion to every track. Inspired by artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, Boston Manor, Turnstile, Deftones and Enter Shikari, Blush Puppy combine powerful guitars with vulnerable songwriting and memorable choruses.
The band will release their debut EP ‘Here You Dream’ on 10 April via Venn Records. The record features several standout tracks, including the emotionally charged ‘Tears in Rain’, the powerful ‘Under The Water’ and my personal favourite ‘Polish the Chrome’.
Blush Puppy have also been building a strong reputation on stage, sharing bills with acts such as Bad Nerves and Pool Kids as they continue to grow their audience.

Bad Assumption
Bad Assumption are a melodic hardcore/punk band from Münster, Germany. Their sound blends the raw energy of hardcore with touches of pop-punk and alternative rock, creating music that feels both powerful and melodic. Fast riffs, strong hooks and emotional vocals give their songs a balance of intensity and catchiness.
Lyrically, the band focus on meaningful topics such as unity, resistance and standing up against injustice. Their music often reflects personal struggles while also addressing wider social issues. This honest and passionate approach has led to comparisons with bands like Stick to Your Guns, Being as an Ocean and Billy Talent.
Over time, Bad Assumption have built a strong catalogue of songs that highlight their style. Tracks like ‘nie wieder ist jetzt’, ‘NO EXCUSES’ and ‘LOYAL FREEDOM DOGS’ show how well they combine melody with hardcore energy. Their ability to mix styles while delivering an honest message makes them a band worth discovering for sure.
THE PRESTIGE
Paris-based band THE PRESTIGE have built a reputation for crafting intense music that sits at the intersection of hardcore and post-metal. Known for their heavy but atmospheric sound, they continue to evolve with each release, pushing their music into darker and more introspective territory.
Their latest single, ‘Noire Nuit’, offers a glimpse into the band’s next chapter and serves as the first preview of their upcoming album, set for release this spring via Banshies. Recorded live before being mixed, the track captures the band’s raw energy while expanding their palette.
Musically, THE PRESTIGE blend crushing riffs, unsettling rhythms and textured sound design, creating songs that feel both suffocatingly heavy and emotionally vulnerable. Influenced by the intensity of hardcore and the depth of post-metal, their sound thrives on contrast.
Wicked Envy
Sydney-based dark rock and metalcore band Wicked Envy combine heavy riffs, theatrical energy and emotionally driven songwriting. Drawing inspiration from bands like In This Moment, The Pretty Reckless and Bullet For My Valentine, they mixes hard-hitting guitars with melodic vocals to create a sound that sits between modern metalcore and dark alternative rock.
The band first introduced themselves with their 2021 debut EP ‘What The Hell Am I Doing’, which helped build early momentum. Their debut single ‘It’s Been a Longtime’ quickly gained attention as well. Since then, Wicked Envy have continued releasing new material, including ‘Final Descent’ and ‘Paralysis Demon’.
Their latest single, ‘Hyde’, shows the band pushing further into heavier territory while keeping their strong sense of melody. Alongside new music, Wicked Envy have been building their reputation through live shows, sharing stages with bands such as Future Static, The Last Martyr and FANGZ.
