This marks the third month of our spotlight series. For those who are new here, every month we are asking you to share the sounds you think the world needs to hear. Big thanks to everyone who got involved — you're truly helping us shape the scene.
Cortney Dixon
Cortney Dixon is a bold, genre-blending artist, producer and songwriter from the North of England. She stands out with her ability to pair gritty DIY energy with glamorous alt-pop ambition. Her sound lands somewhere between Blondie, Wet Leg and Wolf Alice — full of fuzzed-out guitars, sharp hooks and fearless charisma.
Standout tracks like ‘Stop This Party’, ‘Big Deal’ and ‘You Look Good Naked’ showcase the Cortney’s ability to shift effortlessly between raw garage rock and shimmering indie pop, all while keeping her distinctive edge intact.
Cortney’s upcoming six-track EP — out digitally and on 12" vinyl on October 17 — is a fully DIY project, self-produced and recorded entirely in her Newcastle studio. The record channels her lived experiences into a vibrant, hook-filled soundtrack of raw energy and imaginative highs. She mixed the EP with longtime collaborator Rob Irish. Every music video was self-directed, styled and shot by the duo, reinforcing the hands-on, independent spirit that defines her work.
If you’re into emotionally charged alt-pop with teeth, Cortney Dixon is not just one to watch, but to turn up loud.
Call Me Amour
Call Me Amour are a force rising fast out of the UK’s alternative scene. Fusing elements of EDM, alt-rock, metal and hardcore with soaring pop sensibilities, their sound is bold, dynamic and impossible to pin down. Following the release of their explosive self-titled EP in early 2025, the band hit the road with Set It Off for a packed European and UK tour, debuting tracks like ‘Bloom’ and ‘Good Day’ (featuring Mikey Chapman) to fans across ten countries.
Produced and performed with no boundaries in mind, the EP showcases the band’s refusal to play it safe. The way they are pairing catchy choruses with crushing breakdowns and sharp electronic textures is impressive. A guest appearance from Bleed From Within’s Scott Kennedy on ‘Bloom’ adds an even heavier punch to the record, while ‘Dreams’ showcases the band’s more atmospheric side without sacrificing their signature explosive choruses.
With plans for their first headline European/UK tour in late 2025, Call Me Amour are making it clear: this isn’t just a band experimenting with genre — it’s one carving out its own.
Royals
Royals are a rising UK pop-punk band with a sharp, melodic sound. While their roots echo the likes of State Champs and Neck Deep, Royals bring their own flavour. They pair punchy guitars and massive hooks with polished production and synth-laced textures. Tracks like ‘Gone’ and ‘Let Me Go’ showcase their ability to balance emotional weight with infectious energy, while ‘Daydreamer’ leans into pop sensibilities without losing the grit.
Their rise has seen them share the stage with WSTR, ROAM and Skindred, as well as headline packed shows at iconic venues like Camden Underworld and Portsmouth Guildhall, with several dates selling out. A standout newly released track from their catalogue, ‘Good for Me’ — featuring WSTR — is a clear fan favourite and ours too. It’s the kind of track that captures what makes them special: a sound that nods to pop-punk’s roots while pushing it into fresh territory.
With their latest releases, Royals are pushing the boundaries of what UK pop-punk can sound like today. For fans of emotionally honest lyrics, clean-but-crunchy riffs and anthems built to be screamed back live, Royals are a name to keep on your radar.
Chaos Reigns
Chaos Reigns is a British hardcore and mathcore band from London. They are mixing jarring music precision and hardcore fury, rooted in the dissonant spirit of the early 2000s underground but charged with a distinctly modern edge.
Their latest release, ‘Sweet Violence’, captures that intensity perfectly. The record balances razor-sharp aggression with moments of eerie control. Songs like ‘Violent Delights’ and ‘The Lotus King’ twist through warped time signatures and jagged, unpredictable riffs, delivering a listening experience that’s as technical as it is unrelenting. It’s a record that refuses to sit still — dense, chaotic, but never messy.
On stage, Chaos Reigns are a different beast entirely. Their live shows are brutal displays of noise and movement. Having played alongside names such as Harms Way, Ocean Grove and The Armed, they’ve become a must-see act in the UK’s heavy scene.
Following their debut at Hellfest 2025, Chaos Reigns are driving the genre somewhere darker, faster, and far more unpredictable.
Corbian
Corbian is a metalcore band from Offenbach am Main, Germany. Formed in 2013, the three-piece has spent the past decade refining a sound that fuses the brutal weight of deathcore with the raw edge of hardcore and the accessibility of catchy choruses. Their music balances aggression and melody with precision. It combines sharp, technical riffs, bone-crushing breakdowns and vocals that move seamlessly between harsh screams and soaring cleans. It’s a sound that hits hard but stays memorable.
Their lyrics cut close to the bone — tackling loss, failure, revenge and recovery. That emotional weight carries through in every live show. In 2024, they took home the Wacken Metal Battle crown, marking a high point in their already great live reputation.
With the release of ‘IGNITED’, Corbian opened a new chapter in their musical journey, setting the tone for what’s to come. The single ‘Save Yourself’ sets the tone for a 2026 EP, diving into heartbreak, trauma and self-reflection. It’s heavy, both sonically and emotionally.
Corbian don’t follow trends. Listening to them makes you want to tear down walls, while still singing along at the top of your lungs.
