Thanks to everyone who joined in! You’re helping us build something real.
Mercy Girl
Mercy Girl are a new electronic band from Glasgow. Their music mixes soft beauty with dark tension. It carried unique duality, it feels both calm and urgent. As the band describes it, the sound invokes both the solace of a dark, empty highway and the surrender of a neon-hazed dance floor. Their song ‘Ghost’ captures this duality perfectly and is one of our personal favourites.
Blending EBM, darkwave and synth-pop, their sound is both cold and dreamy, yet pulsing with energy. Since their debut in November 2024, they’ve attracted a global following, with tracks echoing through dark-scene clubs from Berlin to Los Angeles.
Their single ‘No Sound’ shows exactly what they do best. It has deep bass, sharp drum beats and haunting vocals. Sometimes the voice is soft and ghostly, sometimes fast and intense. BBC 6 Music called it Track of the Week, while BBC Introducing Scotland chose them as Artist of the Week.
Mercy Girl are not just mixing genres. They are creating their own space in music. Their songs make you feel lost in a dark dream, but you want to stay there. They’ve already sold out their first headline show in Glasgow and shared the stage with Justin Warfield of She Wants Revenge in London. If they keep going like this, they will not be a hidden secret for long.
Lady Rage
Lady Rage are a London-based, all chick/non-binary band who refuse to play by anyone’s rules but their own. Since forming in 2019, they’ve weathered lineup changes and come out stronger, forging a solid crew that’s driving their sound and vision forward at full throttle.
Their music mixes heavy metal power with punk and riot grrrl energy. It’s all about big riffs, hard-hitting drums and fierce vocals that demand attention. So far they’ve released eight singles and their debut album ‘Hear Me Screaming’ has already made an impact on the UK scene, catching the eye of Metal Hammer and Vive Le Rock.
Their single ‘This Lullaby’ from the same album flips its title on its head. It’s anything but soothing, it’s a relentless, snarling track that distills punk’s rawest spirit.
On stage, Lady Rage are unstoppable. Their live shows are loud and chaotic, the kind of performance you feel in your chest. And here’s a warning: if you’re standing close enough to the stage, expect to get wet.
After tearing up Pride Rock, Rebellion Festival and Boomtown, Lady Rage are riding a wave of glowing reviews. With their explosive sound and ferocious live presence, they’re a band impossible to ignore.
Midnight Swim
Manchester’s Midnight Swim are like a shot of adrenaline, five friends turned into a band, all feeding off each other and their fans in equal measure. Since forming in 2023, the group, Jack Valentine’s soaring vocals leading the charge, with Danny Heaton and Mat Lunn on guitars, Maty Ashton on bass and Liam Clough on drums, have crafted a pop-punk sound that’s catchy, sharp and emotionally charged. Hooks land like high-fives, guitar riffs snap with precision and every beat feels designed to make you move.
Their debut EP, ‘Into The Night’, perfectly captures their energy. Tracks like ‘Chemical’ and ‘One Track Mind’ combine anthemic choruses with punchy dynamics, blending heart and high-octane fun in a way that’s irresistible. But it’s live where Midnight Swim truly shine: their on-stage chemistry is playful and electric, turning every show into a shared rush between band and audience. With charisma, catchy songwriting and a stage presence that refuses to be ignored, Midnight Swim are a band that proves pop-punk still has plenty of sparks left to fly and are for sure ones to watch.
Fate Has Favourites
Central Scotland’s Fate Has Favourites bring an unflinching intensity to the UK’s modern emo and alt-rock landscape. Formed in 2019, the five-piece, consisting of Mark Robb (vocals), Amanda Bellany and Lee Travers (guitars), Ellis Sparks (bass), and Michael Bull (drums), marry the grit of early 2000s post-hardcore with the melodic pull of contemporary alternative rock. Their sound thrives on contrasts: crushing riffs give way to soaring hooks, and raw, unguarded lyrics sit atop precise, driving rhythms.
Their EPs, ‘The Noises, the Pain, the Violence’ and ‘Our Favourite Place to Go’, chart a clear evolution. On stage, Fate Has Favourites are just as dynamic, tight and disciplined in their playing but unafraid to let emotion take the wheel. It’s this balance between control and chaos that makes them compelling, whether they’re supporting established acts like Cemetery Sun or commanding a headline set of their own. In a scene hungry for authenticity, they stand out as a band unafraid to be both heavy and heartfelt.
The New Normal
The New Normal is a four piece punk act from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They released their first EP ‘Not Yours’ in October 2023 and are currently recording their followup.
Their debut EP is an 11 minute jolt of punk rock fury that, according to the band, perfectly captures their live sound, but with a sheen of studio polish. It is a culmination of two years of song-writing and showcases 4 of their best songs that really define who they are. However, The New Normal is a the band that is not only about catchy lyrics and good sound, they strongly believe they have a public duty to dispel racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia or in short, hatred of any kind. Thus, their follow up EP will feature the same themes with a focus on anti-violence and peaceful protest.
One of their latest releases, featuring ‘OCD’ and ‘Better Days’, immediately stands out. The tracks showcase a perfect blend of catchy hooks and a dynamic mix of singing and shouting. The band thrives on contrast: aggressive riffs sit alongside melodic choruses. Each song is meticulously crafted yet brimming with attitude, capturing the raw energy of 90s punk rock while feeling completely fresh and modern.
