Backstage at 2000trees: LOVE RARELY

We caught up with Love Rarely at 2000trees Festival for a chat about their debut album, Pain Travels and the journey behind bringing it to life.

For singer Courtney Jade, making a debut album came with the uncertainty of not knowing exactly where the record would lead or how everything would ultimately come together. In our conversation, she reflects on that uncertainty and the process of finding their way through the making of Pain Travels, while remaining focused on creating something the band could be proud of.

Love Rarely also discuss their personal connection to the album and the different ways they relate to the songs. Bass player Daniel Gilson talks about connecting with the lyrics from the perspective of a listener, much like the fans who hear the songs, as he wasn’t involved in the writing process. His perspective offers an interesting insight into how songs can take on a life and meaning of their own once they leave the hands of the people who created them.
