Backstage at 2000trees: Pinkshift on Touring, Community and What Comes Next

Midway through their latest tour, Pinkshift caught up with us backstage at 2000trees Festival to talk about life on the road, the momentum behind their latest album and the experiences they've had navigating today’s alternative music scene.

The band also reflected on the importance of inclusivity, how those values continue to shape both their music and their community, and what it's been like bringing the new material to audiences across the tour.

Beyond the music itself, the conversation dives into the little things that help keep the band connected with their fans. From why they still make time to write blog posts despite the dominance of social media, to the importance of creating a genuine sense of community around Pinkshift, they explain how staying authentic has become just as important as the songs they write.

We also look ahead to their upcoming US tour celebrating the fifth anniversary of their debut EP, Saccharine, and what it means to revisit the release that introduced so many people to the band. As they reflect on those early songs, they talk about how both they and their audience have grown over the past five years, and why celebrating that milestone feels less like looking back and more like bringing everything full circle.
