DISMISS Kick Off their UK Tour in London
Kicking off their five-show UK tour at London’s legendary Hope & Anchor on 22 July, Athens rock’n’roll storm DISMISS brought their explosive live energy to the capital. The tour continues through Preston, Brighton and Stockport before finishing at The Fulford Arms in York on 26 July. For a fun, affordable night of loud rock, they’re well worth checking out.
Starting things off with a distinctly punk flavour, West Midlands trio The Human Error immediately got the room moving. Their raw, energetic sound evoked The Sex Pistols at their best, with sharp vocals and a no-nonsense attitude that made them a perfect fit for the evening. They delivered a lively set that perfectly set the tone for the bands still to come.
Next up, Camden-based Down Charmed delivered a set that was at times bouncy and fun, while also packing some surprisingly heavy moments. The vocalist had a dynamic stage presence, and the band all seemed to be having a great time on stage, creating a positive vibe throughout their set. ‘Cardinal Sin’ was a standout track, and with an EP due for release soon, they’re definitely a band to watch.
Then came the main event. If you like your rock hard, fast and dirty, DISMISS are the band for you. Bringing a raucous, electric energy to the stage, they stole the show. Bass-driven and with guitars influenced by rock legends like Guns N’ Roses, the band have a bright future ahead of them. Vocalist Jo and bassist Monica have a larger-than-life stage presence, commanding the audience’s attention from the very first song, while guitarists Sellyoursouls and Andy combine classic rock nostalgia with a punk sensibility to deliver a truly distinctive sound.
In May 2026, the band released their debut album, FUNERAL FUND, packed with 12 tracks, and they have quickly earned a reputation as one of Greece’s most captivating live acts. We were treated to their new single, ‘I Need’, a high-octane track that delivers their signature sound in spades. Their music is undoubtedly made for a larger stage, and it’s easy to imagine them selling out bigger venues sooner rather than later with their bombastic sound and attitude.
Their track ‘1989’, described by the band as “a middle finger to a failed generation”, was a huge hit with the crowd, providing plenty of opportunities to headbang as Jo made her way down into the audience. ‘Til I Die’ was another standout moment, delivering the kind of defiant rock’n’roll energy that DISMISS do so well. Fans of bands like The Pretty Reckless and Inglorious should definitely check them out!
Closing the night were Brazilian band Anti Virus, who brought their own brand of thrash-infused punk to the stage. Despite performing in Portuguese, they had dedicated fans singing along, proving that energy speaks louder than language. Their ferocious set blurred the lines between punk and metal, ending the night with a final burst of chaos and leaving the room suitably battered.
