Don Broco Ignite Melkweg in Amsterdam
There is an understated science to a Don Broco show, which we witnessed at the iconic Melkweg in Amsterdam several days ago. At the gig, the band proved again why they are among the most electric live acts in the alternative rock genre. Having seen them command OVO Arena Wembley in London at the end of 2025, we know they can easily produce a massive, arena-filling sound. Yet, there is something special about watching them get down and dirty in these more intimate barrierless venues. The Bedford four-piece delivered a masterclass in high-octane performance and crowd domination at the intimate Melkweg venue.
As Don Broco took to the stage, the atmosphere was exhilarating. The band connected directly with the front rows and were framed in a dynamic but blinding light show that cut through the venue’s darkness. Lead vocalist Rob Damiani might as well be a classic rock star – one moment in full rock star glory with arms held aloft, then leaning out over the edge of the stage and delivering raw vocal intensity. He even threw himself into the chaos, jumping straight into the mosh pit during ‘True Believers’.
The aggressiveness of heavy, groove-laden riffs and huge hooks marks the musicality of this performance. Guitarist Simon Delaney’s laser-like focus on his guitar’s gritty execution kept the band’s chaotic energy in check. At the same time, you could feel the epic driving force coming from the rhythm section, aided by the tight drum and bass backline.
Don Broco don’t simply play in a room – they own it. And their recent Amsterdam gig was extremely awesome, sweaty and noisy.
