Feral. Loud. Brilliant. Kneecap.

Kneecap made a ferocious return to Manchester with a two-night run backed by Tasmanian hip-hop talent Miss Kaninna. She lit the room up from the first beat, firing out powerful tracks and taking the stage with absolute confidence. She spoke proudly about her Australian Aboriginal heritage, dropping bangers like ‘Black Britney’ and getting the crowd perfectly primed for Kneecap.

Before the trio appeared, bold pro-Palestine messages flashed across the huge screens, earning massive roars and reminding everyone what Kneecap, and their fans, stand for. Then ‘3cag’ hit, DJ Próvai rushed out, and the place erupted. Moments later Mo Chara and Moglai Bap arrived and the whole room lost it.

‘It’s Been Ages’ hit with extra bite, ironic considering the band have barely been out of the news this year. They tore through new favourites from ‘Fine Art’ and older anthems like ‘Thart Agus Thart’, ‘C.E.A.R.T.A’ and ‘Fenian Cunts’. The barrier shook when the drum-and-bass heavy ‘Sayonara’ and ‘No Comment’ kicked in.

For ‘The Recap’, DJ Próvai pushed deep into the pit, firing everyone up as the crowd exploded when the track dropped. Chaos followed. It was fuckin’ feral. It was fuckin’ brilliant.
