Los Fastidios: A Night of Energy and Nostalgia

We caught Los Fastidios at their London tour stop at New Cross Inn and the energy was electrifying! Supported by Matty G & Li'l Winter and DJ Ska n Mash, the night was a perfect blend of punk, ska and pure adrenaline.
For those of you who might not know, Matty G & Li'l Winter are a politically charged, socially conscious punk rock from Norfolk. They set the tone with tracks like ‘Beer’ and ‘Pirates of a Punk Rock’, turning the crowd into a rowdy pirate crew ready to take on the high seas.
Los Fastidios, the legendary skinhead OGs from Verona, Italy, delivered a performance that resonated deeply. Their mix of punk energy and ska grooves had everyone moving, singing and smiling. For many, including myself, they were the soundtrack to our teenage years, blasting from bedroom speakers and dodgy car stereos. Seeing them this close, in such a small and friendly venue, made it feel like they were playing just for us. It wasn’t just another show, but a night full of old memories and that feeling of belonging you can’t fake.
Their 13th album, Lovesteady, released in April is packed with 13 new streetska and punk songs that will get people singing and dancing anywhere in the world. The cover art, by Italian artist Mariø Brillarelli ‘Whario’, is inspired by a famous 2Tone photo from 1979. The album is out on vinyl, CD and cassette, with releases across Europe, North America and Indonesia. At New Cross Inn, the band played new hits like ‘You're So Young’ and ‘Skabillyboogie’, both of which had the crowd skanking and singing along.
A standout moment of the evening came when Elisa Dixan invited all the rude girls on stage to join her in singing and skanking. It creating a powerful representation of unity and energy that resonated throughout the venue. As the night reached its peak, the band unleashed ‘Antifa Hooligans’. As expected, the audience was screaming and cheering for more. It was a night of pure, unfiltered energy - a true testament to punk rock's timeless spirit.
