Still Just Kids: Simple Plan Turn OVO Arena Wembley into Their Playground

Simple Plan brought an unforgettable wave of nostalgia to London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 3 October 2026, as part of their Bigger Than You Think! UK/EU Tour 2026. Joined by American singer-songwriter Charlotte Sands and Australian pop-punk band Stand Atlantic, the Canadians delivered an energetic and emotional performance that celebrated the songs that have defined a generation.

Opening the evening, Charlotte Sands immediately captured the audience’s attention with ‘None of My Business’, a fast-paced, drum-and-bass-influenced track that got the crowd moving from the outset. Blending pop, emo and pop-punk influences, the American singer-songwriter continued with tracks from her 2023 EP Blindspot, demonstrating her ability to engage a large audience and make an immediate impression. Following the release of her second album, Satellite, on 6 March 2026, Charlotte Sands showcased the confidence, stage presence and infectious energy needed to reach even bigger audiences. She also hinted at a possible return to the UK in spring 2027, giving fans another reason to look forward to seeing her again.

Stand Atlantic were next to take the stage, raising the intensity with ‘Lucid’, the second single from their upcoming fifth album, GODBREATH, due for release on 23 October 2026 via Virgin Music Group. The Australian band kept the momentum going with ‘NEXT2U’ before turning their attention to fan favourites, including ‘Lavender Bones’ and ‘KILL(H)ER’. Frontwoman Bonnie Fraser led the performance with seemingly unstoppable energy, while the rest of the band matched her intensity and kept the crowd engaged throughout the set. Their dynamic stage presence, paired with their natural ability to connect with the audience, made a convincing case for why they could be ready to make the jump to arena shows in the coming years.

When Simple Plan finally took the stage, the audience’s reaction was immediate, with the opening notes of ‘I’d Do Anything’ sending a wave of excitement through the arena. The classic track quickly transformed Wembley into a sea of singing fans. The band followed it with ‘Nothing Changes’, featured in their documentary The Kids in the Crowd, which got released back in July 2025.

The production was every bit as impressive as the performance itself. Huge video screens, pyro, flames and the spectacular effects expected from a tour of this scale helped transform the arena into a full-scale pop-punk celebration. Despite the visual extravagance, however, nothing felt as though it was taking attention away from the music. Instead, every element complemented the performance, amplifying the atmosphere as the band moved constantly across the stage and the audience sang along to practically every word. The result was a visually striking, high-energy show that maintained its momentum from beginning to end.

At the heart of it all was Pierre Bouvier, whose vocals guided the audience through the set, although the crowd often seemed more than happy to take over and provide the backing vocals themselves. Meanwhile, Jeff Stinco delivered the band's instantly recognisable guitar riffs and solos, while Seb Lefebvre added to the performance's infectious energy. Behind the drums, Chuck Comeau looked as though he was having just as much fun as the fans. Together, the four members moved around the stage with an enthusiasm that never seemed to fade, delivering their biggest hits while ensuring that the connection with the audience remained at the centre of the show.

And, of course, a Simple Plan concert would not be complete without a few lighter moments. During one of his speeches, Pierre Bouvier accidentally got the name of Stand Atlantic wrong, referring to them as Chase Atlantic, which is another Australian band. However, the biggest surprise came when Pierre Bouvier appeared in the middle of the arena with his piano to perform ‘Untitled’. The change in atmosphere was immediate, as the performance offered a more intimate and emotional moment amid the night's larger-than-life production.

Then, the emotional moments were balanced by one of the band's most entertaining traditions. Later in the set, Pierre Bouvier invited a huge group of fans dressed as Scooby-Doo characters onto the stage, giving them the opportunity to share a truly unforgettable moment with the band. Although the Scooby-Doo act is nothing new at Simple Plan's shows, we had never seen quite so many Scoobies gathered on stage at once. The stage quickly became packed with costumed fans, reflecting the close bond the band have built with their audience over the years. Not many bands allow their fans to become part of the show rather than simply watching from the crowd, but Simple Plan genuinely embraced the opportunity to share this special moment with them.

As the concert approached its conclusion, the band returned to full-throttle pop-punk with ‘Where I Belong’ and ‘I’m Just a Kid’, keeping the audience on their feet and singing along at the top of their lungs. The excitement reached another level when Chuck Comeau crowdsurfed across the arena, adding yet another memorable moment to an already eventful evening. Finally, the band brought the main set to a close with the beloved ‘Perfect’, as a sea of lights transformed the arena into a breathtaking sight.

Overall, the concert was filled with emotion from start to finish, with every artist giving their all and contributing to an evening that felt like a celebration of pop-punk across generations. Charlotte Sands demonstrated that she is ready to take on bigger audiences, while Stand Atlantic reinforced their potential to make the leap to arenas in the coming years. As for Simple Plan, they once again proved why their songs continue to bring people together. With outstanding production, explosive effects, plenty of humour and moments of genuine emotion, the band delivered a show that celebrated not only their music but also the community of fans who have grown alongside them. It was a reminder that, for many people in the arena, these songs are more than just pop-punk anthems: they are the soundtrack to different stages of their lives.

The Bigger Than You Think! UK/EU Tour 2026 will continue across mainland Europle, with Neck Deep and Charlotte Sands joining Simple Plan for the remaining European dates. The tour is scheduled to conclude at Paris’s Accor Arena on 31 October 2026. If the Wembley show was any indication, fans attending the remaining dates can look forward to plenty more unforgettable moments.
