Bad Wolves: Die About It

It’s not that common for me to get overly excited about an artist announcing an updated or slightly expanded re-release of an album that’s been around for a while. However, with the eargasmic vocal power by frontman Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz and several notable featured artists, the deluxe edition of Bad Wolves’ ‘Die About It’ is worth holding your breath for!

The upcoming album boasts a 22-strong tracklist which includes nine additional songs to the originally released record in 2023.

Diving into the brand-new material, a key guest feature by Australian pop punk band Stand Atlantic makes an appearance in ‘Hanging On To Thunder’. The track blends together a slightly softer touch than the typical sound for Bad Wolves and carries the theme of inner strength that can be found even in moments of adversity.

Unapologetically intense emotions, accompanied by charged guitar riffs and the band’s signature growls, are felt throughout the new title ‘Made For The Misery’. Here, DL explores the protagonist’s life full of ‘broken promises’ and ‘broken dreams’, suggesting that their fate is doomed and reaching the conclusion that they are made for ‘the letdown’, ‘the shame’, ‘the misery’.

Dark feelings of isolation, pain and a ‘broken faith’ are further explored in ‘Home’, another new song off the album that is additionally powered by pounding drums and DL’s vocals that strike a chord with every word that tells a whole pain-drenched story of its own, including the opening lines:

‘Medicate
Anything that takes this pain away
Complicate
The crazy thoughts that live inside my brain’

‘Because Of You’, another new track, is a powerful, yet beautiful and honest confession about deep feelings of regret. The list of completely novel titles off this album is rounded out with ‘All I Need Is Hope’ marked by aggressive guitar riffs and even more raging lyrics.

Going back to honourable feature mentions, we can’t overlook the impressive new version to ‘Say It Again’ featuring The Rasmus’ vocalist, Lauri Ylönen (in fact, the Finnish rock band itself has also been pretty active lately, with the launch of its latest album titled ‘Weirdo’). Catchy way more than one would admit, sung by both powerhouse vocalists and expressed by lyrics that are once again exploring the theme of hope, ‘Say It Again’ is a song that has been rightfully picked as a single off this album – and I truly hope it gets all the recognition it deserves:

‘Hope’s not gone
Right my wrongs
And find a leap of faith to fall from
All along
Same old song
I’ve been waiting here all my life
Sticking around just to say goodbye’

Other outstanding elements of the album include an orchestral version of ‘Legends Never Die’ as well as live versions of ‘Bad Friend’ and ‘Legends Never Die’. The album is out on 19 September 2025 via Better Noise Music, so make sure you tune in on Friday to get your ears blown away by this masterpiece of an album!
