Colorblind: Who Sold You This Truth ++ Was It Yours To Hold

Austin, Texas band Colorblind are ready to take the next step in their journey with the release of their debut album, Who Sold You This Truth ++ Was It Yours To Hold, arriving on 28 August 2026 via Solid State Records / Tooth & Nail Records. Following their 2025 EP Who Sold You This Truth, the 15-track album sees Travis Moseley on vocals, Tyler Moseley on drums, Nicholas Asper on bass and Justin Page on guitars coming together to further shape the band’s sound. With their mix of heavy guitars, electronics, atmospheric elements and emotional songwriting, Colorblind are quickly establishing themselves as one of the most exciting names in the dreamcore scene. Now, with their first full-length record, the band have the opportunity to show just how far they can take that sound.

The album opens with ‘Pressure’, the first song released following the band’s album announcement. It is a fast-paced track driven by heavy guitars, exploring how pressure can still exist even after reaching the goals you have set for yourself. Instrumentally, it also gives us a glimpse of the evolution Colorblind have gone through over the years.

Right after the opener, ‘Car Crash’ comes in. The song has a catchy hook that keeps you attached to its main topic: the instant attraction to someone. It is an energetic follow-up to ‘Pressure’ and keeps the album moving without losing the band’s melodic side.

‘Needle Eye’ feels almost like the emotional aftermath of the previous song. It opens with a much more melancholic atmosphere, completed by guitar riffs and an incredible vocal performance. The change in mood makes the song stand out and gives the album one of its more emotional moments. Next up is ‘Chemical Warfare’, one of the outstanding songs from the album both lyrically and instrumentally. As the lyric “like bombs, like bombs” comes in, the song seems to focus more on the battle inside your own mind. The combination of the instrumentation and songwriting shows just how strong Colorblind can be when they focus on the battles inside your own minds and channel that into their music.

‘Letdown’ brings the album into a more emotional and personal space. Drummer Tyler Moseley shows the great work behind the drums, adding even more intensity to the track. This feeling continues naturally into ‘Misery Loves Company’. This song is another standout from the album, with the heavy breakdown feeling like the cherry on top of the cake. The drum work is equally satisfying and helps make the track one of the album’s heavier highlights. The same can be said for ‘Incomplete’. Instrumentally, it is one of the songs that best captures the sound Colorblind have developed, while the chorus is arguably the catchiest on the album. The following track, ‘Royal Blood’, continues that momentum and could easily become a fan favourite.

Going on, we have ‘Neversleep’ and ‘The Countdown’. The first feels like a callout to all the people out there who are still caring for another person, only to end up hurting themselves in the process. Travis Moseley, with his voice, shows just how deeply hurt a person can be, making the song one of the more emotionally intense moments on the record.

‘The Countdown’ starts with an acoustic riff that shows a different side of the band. Vocally, it is one of the most melodic songs on the album, with the rest of the band joining Travis right before the second verse starts. The change in instrumentation gives the album another moment to breathe before it moves back toward its heavier side.

‘God Complex’ is, without any doubt, the heaviest song on the album. All the instruments work together to make it one of the record’s strongest tracks. Vocally speaking, Travis touches different ranges, moving from high notes to lower parts while maintaining the intensity of the song.

Next comes ‘Lost In Translation’, the most recent single released ahead of the album. It shows more of Colorblind’s electronic side, incorporating a mix of ambient sounds into their heavier foundation. The track demonstrates another part of the band’s identity and adds some welcome variety this far into the album.

If you like heavy guitars and fast-paced drums, you will probably enjoy ‘Heavy Heart’ and ‘Paradox’. These two songs are among the tracks that could help put Colorblind on the map, showcasing the heavier side of the band while maintaining the elements that make their sound distinctive.

The last track is ‘Cynical’, a slow piano ballad that closes the album in a beautifully melancholic way. After all the heaviness and intensity heard throughout the record, the stripped-back approach gives the listener a sense of emptiness as the album comes to an end.

Overall, Colorblind are ready to take one more step in their musical journey with the release of their first album. As they continue building their own identity, Who Sold You This Truth ++ Was It Yours To Hold feels like an open message about self-awareness, completed by catchy choruses and heavy guitars. Across its 15 tracks, the band shows that they can move between vulnerability and aggression without losing the identity they have been developing since forming in 2017.

Colorblind will also join Catch Your Breath on their U.S. fall tour later this year.
