Inherited: ALL 4 ONE
Hardcore is a genre built on energy, community and a sense of belonging, and Dutch youngsters Inherited are quickly making a name for themselves within the scene. Despite only forming in 2024, the young band have already achieved more in their short time together than many bands manage in years. With a sound that combines groove-heavy riffs, fast-paced drums and an unmistakable hardcore attitude, Inherited are proving that age is no barrier when it comes to making an impact.
That rapid rise provides the perfect backdrop for their latest EP, ALL 4 ONE, which is set for release on 2 October via Mascot Records. Formed by a group of high school friends, three of whom are still in their teens (Neill Ray (Drums), Marvin Wesdorp (Guitar) and Midas Giele (Guitar)), Inherited have wasted no time making their mark, playing their sixth-ever show on the hallowed stage of Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival after winning the Dutch Metal Battle 2025. Across ALL 4 ONE, the band explore their identity as a hardcore group while delivering messages of empowerment, with each track bringing its own energy and emotion.
The release starts solid with ‘WASTED SPACE’ features a swirling, heavy guitar riff that transports listeners straight into the hardcore world that Inherited are firmly a part of. Towards the end of the song, the pace slows, allowing listeners to reflect. Vocalist Jamie Versprille delivers with confidence the reassuring line, “you’re not a wasted space”, highlighting the sense of inclusivity at the heart of Inherited’s music and suggesting that at an Inherited show, people from all walks of life are welcome.
Previously released, ‘WON’T BREAK’ further showcases the band’s hardcore sound through its fast-paced drums. Lyrically, the track centres on refusing to listen to negativity from others and remaining true to yourself, no matter the circumstances: “I won’t break / No matter how much I must take”. Through these lyrics, Versprille reminds listeners that even when it feels as though people are against you or constantly putting you down, you do not have to listen to them. Instead, you should always feel free to be yourself without fear of judgement.
The title track ‘ALL 4 ONE’ begins with another heavy guitar riff, immediately setting the tone and perfectly suited to creating pits at live shows. The track carries a raw, energetic quality that feels designed to get a crowd moving, while the phrase “all for one” is repeated throughout the song, making it tailor-made for audience participation and collective chants. There’s something particularly effective about the simplicity of the repeated line, as it gives fans an easy phrase to latch onto and shout back during a performance. More than just a catchy hook, it reinforces the song’s sense of unity, bringing the audience together to experience the music as one. Combined with the driving guitars and forceful delivery, ‘ALL 4 ONE’ feels like a track that could become a standout moment in the band’s live set.
The closer, ‘INHERITED’, is all about the band’s identity and the idea that hardcore runs through their veins. As vocalist Jamie Verspille explains, INHERITED is “all about where we come from: our family, our blood, everything that shaped us. It is what we have been given, and we owe it everything. That's why we carry that legacy forward”. This focus on identity is evident throughout the track, as Verspille encourages listeners to embrace the things they are passionate about without fear of judgement: “Do you like what you see / Don’t burn all that we have”.
Overall, Inherited’s latest EP, ALL 4 ONE, showcases the band’s hardcore sound and the way it has become intertwined with their identity. Each track is packed with emotion and energy, qualities that translate powerfully to the live setting.
